(R-T) THE RIBBONS OF HISTORY: THE HISTORIC ROADS OF HUNTERDON COUNTY
Join County Historian Frank Curcio for a presentation about the fascinating history of the county roads of Hunterdon.  The history of our roads is the history of our County's development.  How did they develop?  Which are the earliest roads?  Where were the King's and Queen's Highways?  A civilization's road system tells us a lot about that civilization; what will our county's road history reveal about us?

(R) AN ASTRONOMICAL JOURNEY THROUGH HUNTERDON'S HISTORY
Please join us for a unique view of various significant events during Hunterdon's 300 years of history:  what did the night sky look like to our forefathers and foremothers when these events were happening (or would have looked like if it was a clear night!).  What would Charles Lindbergh have seen had he viewed the constellations the evening of March 1, 1932, the night of the kidnapping of his son?  or George Washington on the eve of the Crossing of the Delaware on December 24, 1776?  or the date of Hunterdon's incorporation (March 22, 1714)? Truly a unique perspective to talk about our County!
Due to unsafe conditions after the Planetarium darkens, late admission is not permitted once the show begins. Please arrive in time to enjoy the show! No late admissions!
If the sky is clear, the 3M Observatory will be open for your viewing pleasure.

GHOSTS OF EAST AMWELL TOWNSHIP
When Jim Davidson purchased his historic home in the 1970s, he had no idea what he was getting into. Never mind the usual repairs that come with buying a house. Something else – far more frightening – was going on.
The East Amwell Historical Society president wasn't afraid of no ghosts when he moved into the old house on the edge of town. But flying paint cans, screaming voices and much more changed all that. And had him packing his bags quickly.
What happened? What compelled him to saw a hole through his dining room floor? And what did he find below?
To learn the answers and hear other spine-tingling tales, come to the East Amwell Historical Society's "Ghosts of East Amwell" program on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. in the town's municipal building,. This free event will be an audience participation program, so everyone is encouraged to share their own ghost stories.
No reservations are required, but space is limited. It's strongly encouraged you arrive early to ensure getting a seat.
Attending the meeting will be representatives of PARS – the Paranormal Activity Research Society – who will listen to the stories and select one or two homes to investigate. The group will return to East Amwell and report its findings at a program next year.
Get ready for Halloween with an EAHS program that will haunt you for nights to come!

STROLL THROUGH FLEMINGTON, A HISTORIC HOUSE TOUR
In addition to supporting the historic preservation efforts of the Flemington Historic Preservation Committee, this Historic House Tour is the Borough of Flemington’s contribution to, and is the official event in recognition of, Hunterdon County’s Tricentennial Celebration Year.
With 65% percent of the Borough's buildings included on the NJ State Register of Historic Places along with the National Register of Historic Places, it is fitting that a Historic House Tour should be the Borough's contribution to Hunterdon’s 300th.  The tour is self-guided and will feature privately-owned Historic Homes and four Historic Public Buildings within the Borough including the Hunterdon County Courthouse, where the tour will begin.
The houses and historic buildings are an eclectic mix that includes six private homes of different styles and time periods.  The styles include Federal, Georgian Colonial, Victorian and Post-Victorian and have been chosen because there are aspects to each that are of historical significance to Flemington.
